White Pine - Qualities and Uses
A species indigenous to Quebec, eastern white pine (Pinus strobus) charms by the softness of its grain, the colour of its wood and the ease with which it may be worked. Of rapid growth, it is considered as the tallest conifer in the North East of North America and the least resinous of pines.
Its uniform texture and luxurious appearance make it a wood highly valued for the fabrication of mouldings, doors and windows, exterior siding and panelling.
Greatly appreciated by woodworkers and for various handy-man projects, it offers a grand variety of grades, from clear to knotty, each quality showing its own interest.
